Meet rising senior Adrienne Lee! She is working from North Carolina on our exhibitions this summer after recently defeating bed bugs!
Name: Adrienne Lee (she/her/hers)
Major/Minor: Studio Art major, Neuroscience minor
What do you listen to at work?: “Sunshowers” on Spotify! When I’m craving psychological caffeine, I listen to Peggy Gou. Occasionally some Debussy’s when I need some ‘silence.’
Favorite color: Prussian Blue. It feels like the calm before a storm.
Favorite local business: Davidson Ice House! Wholesome moments at Davidson Ice house.
What architecture style best describes your personality?: Deconstructivist and minimalist architecture.
Favorite artist in our collection: My favorite artist in the art collections is Trevor Paglen. When I first started working at the galleries as a first year in Davidson, I was learning how to hang framed pieces (under the guidance of the wonderful David Sackett). We hung Paglen’s work, “Dead Military Navigation Satellite (COSMOS 985) Near the Disk of the Moon,” in the first floor of Wall Centre. There is something mesmerizing about that piece. I like to be selfish and to sit across that piece during my quiet working hours. His works are encrypted with layers of conceptual exploration of our world of surveillance.
