Sarah Willoughby is a Freshman at Davidson College from Greensboro, North Carolina. She is an intended Political Science major, and wanted to work in the gallery because of her love for art and her interest in the “behind the scenes” aspects of art curation.

Learn more about Sarah:

Who is your favorite artist?

“I adore Njideka Akunyili Crosby, her use of collage and color is so captivating!”

What is your earliest memory of art?

“Using a little kid watercolor set and putting on an “art show” for my parents in my living room.”

What is your favorite piece of art on campus?

“My favorite piece of art on campus is probably the Yinka Shonibare Wind Sculpture in front of Wall. I love how bright and fluid it is, and that it is incredibly subjective to the observer.”

“I love being constantly surrounded be art. It is so cool to look through Davidson’s fantastic collection!”

What are you most excited to do in the art gallery or in art in general this semester?

“I am really excited to see all of the new exhibits and do more artist talks. I am also looking forward to working more with art around campus.”
