Gallery interns Yunyue (Sarah) Zhang '23 and Sarah Willoughby '25 recently curated an exhibition for the lobby of the Cunningham Theater building on campus. This exhibition is in response to the Theater Department's upcoming play "Every Body." Infinite Affinities Death. The word looms with darkness and fear. Similarly, Branden Jacob-Jenkins’ play Everybody that faces the overwhelming question of “What is the meaning of life” and other moralities, we explore the relationships that bring meaning to both life and death. Retouching the original morality play Everyman, Everybody approaches the same question with a comical twist to resonate with 21st century audiences....

Seen On Campus: A Sweet Hell

Taken aback, that is exactly how I would describe my reaction to seeing A Sweet Hell by Trenton Doyle Hancock for the first time. In many ways, it reminded me of a nightmare from the deep dark corners of someone's mind, terrifying figures swords and all. Serving as a backdrop to the nightmarish scene was a setting that is eerily reminiscent of Valentine's Day with pinks, reds, and whites creating a loving mood with the only things missing being hearts and a Cupid. Last semester when I was researching the artist Bethany Collins, I stumbled upon an article published on Artforum. The author of this article was Davidson alum, Brian T. Leahy. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to interview Mr. Leahy, who generously shared his experience in Davidson and post-Davidson.
