The Van Every/Smith Galleries and the Davidson College Art Department will present the Annual Juried Student Exhibition from April 26 – May 10, 2017 in the Van Every Gallery. The opening reception will take place on Wednesday, April 26 from 7 – 8:30 pm, with the awards presentation at 7pm.
The Annual Juried Student Exhibition highlights works produced during the academic year by both art majors and non art-majors at Davidson College. Works on view have been selected by the studio art faculty. Awards will be selected and presented by guest juror Endia Beal.
Endia Beal is a North Carolina based artist, who is internationally known for her photographic narratives and video testimonies that examine the personal, yet contemporary stories of marginalized communities and individuals. Beal currently serves as the Director of Diggs Gallery at Winston-Salem State University and Associate Professor of Art.
