Meet Oliver Poduschnick, one of the new interns on staff at the Van Every/Smith Galleries!

Oliver Poduschnick is a freshman at Davidson College from Middlebury, Vermont. He is currently undecided, but hopes to possibly major in either Political Science or Economics. Oliver chose to work in the art gallery because he thought it was a really cool space that provided an opportunity to work and interact with art in a way that he never had before.

Learn more about Oliver:

Who is your favorite artist?

“My favorite artist is either Van Gogh or Barbara Kruger. I really like Van Gogh’s style and he was just so influential and I like how Kruger addresses different cultural constructions in her art.”

What is your earliest memory of art?

“My earliest memory of art would be drawing with colored pencils at home.”

What is your favorite piece of art on campus?

“My favorite piece on campus is The Sky is Not Sacred by Lien Truong which is in the gallery, but there is also a lot of cool art in the library (which is student made), and I really like those as well.”

What is your favorite part about working in the art gallery so far?

“My favorite thing about working in the gallery is getting to see a bunch of cool art every time I go in to work.”

What are you most excited to do in the art gallery or in art in general this semester?

“I am most excited to work on exciting projects and see a lot more art.”

Feel free to come chat with Oliver or any of our other interns Mon-Friday 10-5 and Sat-Sunday 12-4.
