Meet rising senior Sebi, who is interning with us this summer and working with our upcoming exhibitions. He is probably listening to music right now while working remotely from Bethesda, MD.
Name: Sebi Sola-Sole (he/him/his)
Major: Art History
Favorite color: Yellow when it sits next to a medium gray
Favorite local business: Summit!
What architecture style best describes your personality?: Arts & Crafts
Favorite artist in our collection: Louise Bourgeois—I’m in love with early 20th century art, and she’s the screaming example of modernism in our collection. Working in New York in the mid-1900s, she drew inspiration from Miro (and a lot of his contemporaries) whose reproductions have hun in my bedroom since I was born.
Untitled (I Have Been to Hell and Back) (2007)
What are you working on this summer? Warning: shameless plug ahead. I’m extremely excited to be working on a mini-exhibition in Cunningham for this upcoming semester. To be shown in relation to the Theatre Department’s fall program, the exhibition will feature a selection of Andy Warhol Polaroids, investigating queerness in the Pop Art pioneer’s work as a portrait artist, photographer, and social documentarian. Come check out the show if the opportunity presents and look out related social media content!
