Collaborative Quilting Workshop with Erika Diamond

Join artist Erika Diamond to create a collaborative quilt, in relation to Erika’s work in the Galleries’s current exhibition, The sun still rises in spite of everything. Her work aims to bring attention to the complex challenges surrounding visibility and safety faced by LGBTQ youth today.
Erika is a textile-focused artist, curator, and educator. Holding degrees from Rhode Island School of Design (BFA) and Virginia Commonwealth University (MFA), Diamond has exhibited nationally and abroad in venues such as Contemporary Craft, Dinner Gallery, Form & Concept Gallery, and Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Her work is included in the collections of San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles and Ally Bank. Residencies and Grants include: McColl Center for Visual Art; Platte Forum; UNCA STEAM Studio; VCU Arts; US Artists; and North Carolina Arts Council. Diamond is Associate Director of Galleries at Chautauqua Institution.
